1/2 loaf (8 oz) french bread-cut into 1/2 inch slices
2 Tbls butter-soft
2 small apples-peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup raisins
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/3 cup maple flavored syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. grease a 1-1/2 qt cassarole dish. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Arrange bread slices, butter side up in the dish, alternately layering with apples and raisins. In a medium bowl, mix eggs, milk, syrup, cinnamon and salt. Pour over bread apple mixture. Press the bread down into the milk mixture with a fork. bake 40-45 minutes or until a knife in the center comes out clean. Brush with more maple syrup and serve immediately.
